FSSAI issues guidelines for blending of mustard oil

This is to ensure strict enforcement to check blending of mustard oil with other edible oil

With reference to the earlier notification issued by FSSAI wide, the blending of mustard oil for the production of multi-source edible oil has been prohibited.

In this regard FSSAI requesting to carry out an inspection drive for all such units which were hitherto licensed for the production of mustard BEVO/MSEO and to check whether any prohibited blending of Mustard oil was being carried out.

In order to ensure that no blending of mustard oil is being carried out by any FBO. It is requesting to take proper actions in the matter including carrying out of surveillance and enforcement drives at regular intervals both at the manufacturing and market levels to ensure effective enforcement of the said prohibition of blending of mustard oil.
