Bigbasket, India’s largest online supermarket, has launched five variants of cold-pressed oils under its GoodDiet range, including sunflower, safflower, peanut, coconut and sesame.
Cold-pressed oils are extracted by pressing the seeds or nuts in chemical-free wood mills. They are devoid of any preservatives and contain good quantities of antioxidants. While they are extracted from non-heating methods, these oils retain the natural aromas and flavors of their sources, and are also high on nutritional value.
Bigbasket’s GoodDiet range comprises ready-to-cook mixes – many of them millet-based, roasted snacks and superfoods. The superfoods include a variety of seeds from buckwheat to quinoa.
The online grocery market hopes that this new offering of GoodDiet cold pressed oils will give a healthier twist to cooking and snacking.
